Mermaid Tag

Hi Everyone, today I have a tag to share............

It's a ranger manila size 10 tag - so pretty big!  So here it goes:

I started by putting distress inks in mustard seed, picked raspberry and peacock feathers on my craft sheet and spritzed with water, I then smooshed my tag through the colours.  Once dry I went over the tag using cut and dry foam with the same colours to intensify them, I then flicked water at the tag to created the splatter effect.  Next I used Viva embossing creme in white mixed with sky blue acrylic paint through an Andy Skinner tornado stencil.  When I dried it with my heat gun the tornado puffed up so it has a nice texture.  I used the ends of the hair on the Juliet stamp by Indigo Blu to stamp the seaweed in black archival along the bottom and on the top right side of the tag.
Next I printed my mermaid image from The Octopode Factory and coloured her with promarkers.  I added her to the tag with foam pads and gave her a pearl earring and a diamond in her eye and on her tail.  Then I added the chit chat stickers from Tim Holtz saying 'discover another world'.  To finish off the tag I added a string of pearls along the bottom and tied a bow in turquoise organza at the top.

I would like to enter my tag in the following challenges:

  • The Octopode Factory Friday Challenge - this week the theme is 'tags' for all the challenge details please click HERE
