Clean and Simple Butterflies & An Award!

Hi Everyone,

Today I have a clean and simple style card to share with you, it's an RSVP card I made to respond to a wedding invitation.

I cut various sizes of hearts using a Nellie Snellen die set and coloured them with peacock feathers distress ink.  I used the water stamping technique to stamp the butterfly onto the hearts and then over stamped with the peacock feathers ink.

I cut a square panel and wrapped some green organza ribbon around it, then stuck the hearts on in a random arrangement.  I mounted this panel to a 6x6 scalloped card blank using foam pads.

I would like to enter my card into the following challenges:

Andy Skinner ATC

Hello Everyone and thanks for taking the time to stop by my blog today.

I have been having a quiet weekend just shopping and crafting as I know work is going to be crazy for the next two weeks.........

So today I created an ATC with my new Andy Skinner stencils that arrived in the post earlier in the week:

It's a Ranger sticky back canvas ATC and I started by spritzing it with dylusions inks (lemon zest, pure sunshine and squeezed orange) and some water.  I dried it with my heat tool and then used part of the tornado stencil with picked raspberry distress ink.  I then took the children stencil and used black soot distress ink to create the silhouette of the two children.  I added a border around the edge with a black micron pen and added the words from Tim Holtz stickers.

I would like to enter my ATC into the following challenges:

  • Anything But A Card - ATC Extravaganza, click HERE for challenge details

Dictionary Challenge - Letter W + circles

Hello everyone, it's time for another letter over at The Craft Barn dictionary challenge!  This time the chosen letter is "W" with the added requirement that circles are in the background - for all the challenge details click HERE.
I've missed two letters as I've been away on holiday for three weeks but I fully intend to go back and fill them in when I have time - but for the current challenge I chose the word 'wardrobe' so here is my page:

I started by masking my definition, then gave the pages two coats of diluted white acrylic paint.  I drew my wardrobe onto some card and water coloured it using distress markers (aged mahogany and vintage photo).  I stamped the tree by visible images in pine needles distress ink and added the snow using tumbled glass and picket fence distress marker, the sky is faded jeans distress marker.  Once dry I added the lamp post and coloured the light with pro markers.  I added snow to the tree and the sky using a white gel pen.  I drew the floors and walls onto the dictionary pages and coloured the floor with dylusions melted chocolate and the walls with crushed grape.  I drew in the floorboards and added the circles to the 'wallpaper' using a stencil and white acrylic paint.  I cut out and stuck down my wardrobe and added a shadow underneath with black soot distress marker.  I then took some grungeboard letters and coloured them with a black pro marker and added them to the pages.  Finally I removed the mask and doodled around the edges of the definition to highlight it.

So hopefully you've guessed that my pages are meant to represent the wardrobe from the lion, the witch and the wardrobe!

Clarity Stamp - Challenge Two

Challenge two over at the new Clarity Stamp Challenge blog is "In The Garden" and here is my card for the challenge:

I created the background using my new gelli plate then stenciled the flowers over the top using black soot distress ink.  I cut the square using an xcut die and distressed it using olive green and pine needles.  I then stamped the lily of the valley in black versafine and coloured it using promarkers and used a white pen to highlight the flowers.  I stamped the lily round the edge of the square in the olive green distress ink and then edged it with black soot.
I mounted the background onto black card and tied the black organza ribbon around the card before mounting the lily square using foam pads.

The Crafting Cafe - April Challenge

Morning Everyone,

It's the 15th of the month again so it's time for my DT project over at The Crafting Cafe

This month the theme is 'Let's Celebrate' and we are sponsored by Crafty Sentiments Designs, here is my card using one of their digi images:

I coloured the digi stamp using pro markers and mounted the panel onto textured gold card.  I then mounted the long rectangle of green card and a square of the colourful diamond paper onto the gold card also.  I stamped the happy birthday sentiment on the bottom right of the green panel and layered all the panels onto a 6 x 6 scalloped card blank.

I hope you enjoyed my project this month, do pop over to the challenge blog and join in - there are some prizes to be won from our sponsor :)

Thanks for stopping by,
