Hi Everyone,
I'm thrilled to be taking part in the 3UP week over on the Paperartsy blog.
The theme I was allocated was to use an autumnal palette with Lin Brown and Darcy stamps :-)
I chose to create a journal page in my small Dylusions journal:
I started off sticking washi tape randomly onto the blank page:
Next I scraped white gesso on and once dry sprayed my page with Lindy's Stamp Gang sprays:
I used Potting Soil Archival ink to sponge in the twiggy element from one of Darcy's stencils to add extra depth to the background.
Next I positioned where I wanted my flower garden to be and stamped onto the background. The Darcy flowers I used were from plates EDY10, 12 & 13. The Lin Brown flowers are from plates ELB 22 & 24.
I also painted a piece of smoothy card a variety of colours (Haystack, Autumn Fire, Tikka, Cherry Red and Zucchini) and stamped the flower heads and stems out again.
I inked all the cut edges with Potting Soil Archival ink before adhering them to the journal pages, and also inked the page edges with the same colour.
Then I added shading around the flower heads and stems with a soft pencil, smudging it with my finger.
I decided to add a little bit more foliage to the page so used some of the smaller elements from Lin Brown's stamp plates (ELB22 & 24) both along the top and bottom of the pages. I used Archival Orange Blossom and Versafine Olympia Green inks, but used second and third generations so they weren't too dominant.
The sentiment is from a really old Lin Brown plate (ELB02) and was stamped directly onto the page in black archival.
A few white paint splatters and then the final touch was the various colours of liquid pearls to most of the flower heads.
I enjoyed creating this page and seeing it develop from a relatively bright and basic page into one which has a lot more depth and layers.
I hope you will hop over to the Paperartsy blog to see what my two 3UP buddies created for tonight and also make sure you pop back every night this week to enjoy a new 3UP theme :-)
