Stencil Sunday

Hello,

Over on the Paperartsy blog they are up to topic 12 for the challenge which this time is stencils.

Here is a giant size 12 tag I created for the challenge which was very much inspired by Leandra's tag in the video:

Created the background using a store card and Fresco paints in Wisteria, Hint of Mint and Ice Blue.

Stamped the flower stalk from Lin Brown set ELB16 then used the co-ordinating stencil to colour the flower head using Pansy, Snowflake, Bougenvillia and Rose. Then stamped the flower head, not perfect which is a bit annoying but close enough I guess!

Next I added Grunge Paste tinted with Guacamole through another Lin Brown stencil, once dry I added some Hey Pesto in places. I also coloured the flower stem with Hey Pesto.

Some more stencilling in the background using white paint and a couple of TCW stencils including the little butterfly done with the leftover flower head paint.

A bit of extra stamping with the little circle stamps from the same plate using purple ink.

I stamped the quote out from ELB05, cut it out, edged with black and added to the tag.

Finally I edged the whole tag with black ink to finish.

Biggest tag I've ever made lol but I kinda like it :)

Blue Girly

Hello all,

Here today to share a journal page I created to practice my face drawing.

So here is the finished page:

I started by sketching her out in pencil:

Then used Paperartsy Fresco paints to colour her:

I used Buff, Snowflake, Irish Cream, Toffee, French Roast, Blush and Rose paints. Then added black and white pen to her also.

Next onto the background, for this I added Southern Skies and South Pacific Frescos using a baby wipe. Then did some stamping using some Clare Lloyd stamps with white pigment ink.

Finally I doodled the quote around her - in case you can't read my scrawl it says 'When it rains look for rainbows. When it's dark look for stars.'

Fathers Day Fun!

Hi and welcome to my blog today!

Yesterday was Fathers Day and I'd like to share the card I made for my Dad.

I started by creating the background using Paperartsy Frescos in Banana, Tangerine Twist and Carribean Sea from the most recent Lin Brown paint set.

Then I did some stencilling, I used three different The Crafters Workshop stencils (TCW554s, TCW525s and TCW457s) with Snowflake paint and Walnut Stain distress ink. Then did a little bit of stamping with Finnabair dirty walls stamps.

I stamped the tree, which is France Papillion for Stampotique, using black archival (it's very first inking!)

Added some bits of TH tissue tape then die cut the sizzix lattice shape from card. I coloured this with Walnut Stain distress ink then added Treasure Gold in Olive Bronze.

Distressed the edges and inked those with Walnut Stain ink also. I added the sentiment, which is by Inkylicious, to the card using the tiny attacher.

I mounted it onto some dark brown card which I had distressed the edges of before adding to a cream card blank.

Dad liked his card, but he is usually slightly biased!!

Circle Journal Page

Hello Everyone,

Thanks for stopping by today - I'd like to share my very first page in a new journal I made for a circle journal group.

This is the very first circle journal I have ever taken part in - there are seven of us in the circle, each person has made a journal which will travel around the country with each member creating a page or pages and eventually it will end up back with it's original owner.

I decorated the first page in my journal and incorporated the current theme over at Paperartsy which is 'Hidden Objects' Check out the Paperartsy blog HERE for all the details and DT makes.

The background was created using the limited edition Lin Brown Fresco paints plus Snowflake.

I also used a Lin Brown stencil to get those lovely big flowers in the background.

I did some background stamping using second generation cornflower blue archival with a Lynne Perella script stamp and a Sara Naumann stamp, then created splatters using watery black gesso.

I stamped the twiggy image a few times from a Hot Picks set, then layered on some old book paper, some hessian type ribbon and a piece of left over plaster material.

Next for my 'hidden object'.....I took a little envelope that came with a tag inside. I stamped the front of the envelope with some Hot Picks stamps and then did some more stencilling and splattering.

For the tag - I have chosen not to show my hidden tag as it contains my circle journal rules which I want to keep a secret from the rest of my circle journal friends.

But I basically colourised and stencilled the tag to match the rest of the page and stamped on some rules for my journal that must be followed :)

Then I added the trees ribbon to the top of the tag so that it can be easily removed from it's little envelope for people to read.

A Little Dragon Tag

Hello everyone,

Over at the Dragon's Dream Tag It On blog this fortnight the theme is green and a quotation.

Here is my little tag to join in:

I won this Finnabair teacup stamp at at workshop I went to last month and this was it's first outing :)

I used Dylusions paint for my background in fresh lime and vibrant turquoise. Stamped a Finnabair 'dirty wall' stamp in potting soil archival randomly on the background along with a bit of stencilling with white paint and a TCW stencil.

Quite like this background, was almost a shame to cover it lol!

Stamped out my teacups onto the mop up card from creating the tag, cut out and added to the tag.

I found the quote on Pinterest and thought it suited my tag perfectly.

Stamped it out, cut out and edged each word before adding to the tag.

A little scribble of white pen here and there and it was finished!

Message in a bottle

Hello,

Here is a little something I created today to join in with the current bottle theme over on the Paperartsy blog - to check out their blog just click HERE.

I used a Paperartsy Grey/White board base and added some Grunge Paste through a TCW stencil, then added Fresco paints in ice blue, sky, banana, bougainvillea and snowflake.

Added a bit of background script stamping (LPC028), some more stencilling with snowflake paint and then a bit more stamping (LPC028) in white:

I stamped the houses from the same Lynne Perella 028 set twice onto tissue and painted from behind using banana, bougainvillea, tikka and chartreuse before adding snowflake last.

Tore them out and added to the board using Prima soft matt gel. Added then sentiment from Lin Brown set ELB05 using black archival.

Now for the bottle - it is a tiny little thing I found with some little gem things in, so I transferred them to another container and stamped white script (LPC028 again) around the outside of the bottle. I added a piece of vintage French bookpaper inside as the 'messege in a bottle' and added the tiny black trim around it's neck.

I added an eyelet in the corner and attached the bottle to the project using the black beaded trim.

To give it a touch of glamour I went around with Tresure Gold in White Fire and Royal Amethyst, highlighting the grunge paste texture and also the edges.

 

And here's a quick pic of it in the sunshine, makes the colours look slightly different:

Bottle Time

Hello everyone,

The new challenge on the Paperartsy blog this fortnight is 'bottles'

You can check out the blog HERE and see some of the fab projects that have been posted so far.

Here is my altered bottle for the challenge:

So here is how my bottle started out - it was a reed diffuser air freshener:

It was ok, but pretty plain and boring.

I washed it out and once dry poured Guacamole Fresco paint into it and rolled it around until the whole of the inside was covered.

I left that to dry and set about altering the top part.

I gave it three coats of Vanilla Fresco paint to give good coverage over the original wooden colour.

Originally I had added ribbon around the top but it just didn't look right so I took that off and replaced it with some Tim Holtz tissue tape.

Then I added Olive Bronze Treasure Gold all over the top with an old paintbrush:

I like how it almost looks a bit like stone now. I added some twine around the neck of the bottle with a heart charm. Then I found a teeny tiny tag in my stash and coloured it with Distress Ink in Brushed Corduroy and Shabby Shutters before adding a tiny Tim Holtz rub on crown.

And here it is in it's planned location in the conservatory - which is green so it looks good in all it's Guacamole glory:
