More new stamps...

Hello and welcome to my blog today,

I recently bought some of the new Paperbabe stamps and a couple of the templates for creating faces. I had a bit of a play with them in my watercolour paper journal and here is the result:

I started by creating the outline for my girl using the templates from Paperbabe stamps which I bought from Etsy then using the coordinating stamps for her facial features.

Here she is at the start, I extended her body down a little bit to the bottom of my page. Then started adding colour to her using a combination of Prima watercolour pencils and the Spectrum Noir pencils along with their blending solution.

Then I added the background around her using Distress inks in Fossilised Amber and Abandoned Coral. I then over stamped using Paperartsy Hot Pick Xtra 06 which is lots of days and months of the year. I stamped these in Ranger white pigment ink and then also in the Abandoned Coral in places.

And then she was all finished :)

Very happy with my first attempt at using the templates!

I'd like to link my page to the following challenges:

  • The Craft Barn Blog - their theme this week is 'words' and you can pop HERE for more info

Thank for looking,

Enjoy Yourself

Hello everyone,

I had some very, very happy mail this week! I was lucky enough to be a commenting winner on the Art Workshops Facebook page ran by Sue Tucker following a Tracy Easson workshop I attended - here is what arrived at my house on Friday:

I had a quick play today in my journal using the Andy Skinner stencil and a few of the paints:

I started by adding Paperartsy Fresco paints in Carribean Sea, Tangerine Twist and Bougainvillea through the Finnabair doily type stencil:

Then I added Prussian Blue DecoArt paint and Colbalt Turquoise to the whole page with the two girly masks in place. Then splattered the page with the Titanium White DecoArt paint:

I outlined my girls in black then white pen.

Added the stars to the page using grunge paste mixed with Metallic Gold DecoArt paint, but it wasn't really gold enough so once dry I used Treasure Gold over the top.

To finish I added a couple of chit chat stickers edged with black and gold pens.

I'd like to link my page to a couple of challenges:

  • Paperartsy Blog - the current theme is stencils, click HERE for all the details (and to see all their fab new stamp releases!)
  • That's Crafty Challenge Blog - the current theme is stars, for more info click HERE

Thanks for stopping by,

Claire xx

Yay New Paperartsy Stamps!

Hi everyone,

This week sees the release of the newest Paperartsy stamp sets - there are so many wonderful projects over on the blog this week it really is inspirational.

So obviously I couldn't wait to get my hands on some of these so popped my order in with Country View Crafts and they came really quickly. I couldn't wait to have a play so here is a giant tag I created last night:

My tag started off with my attempt to recreate the background technique video Lin Brown shared over on the Paperartsy blog last night using a card to add the paint, I used these paints on my tag:

The background uses two of Lin's stencils, done in Snowflake first then with Limelight over the top.

I stamped the Poppy from Hot Picks 1505 and added an extra stem to the side. The leaves and both flowers were stamped separately onto some painted card and then layered on top.

I mixed some grunge paste with the leftover Carribean Sea and Tangerine Twist and added this to the tag through the new numbers stencil.

I added some script stamping using the fab new script stamp from Hot Picks 1501 in sepia ink.

I edged the tag with Black Soot distress ink then stamped the No 1 in black archival in the bottom corner which is also from Hot Picks 1501.

I'm linking my tag to the following challenges:

Thanks for dropping by,

Claire x
