Hi Everyone,
The theme over on the Paperartsy blog this fortnight is 'wax'

I created another loose journal page:
I started by adding Fresco paints in Chutney, Pumpkin Soup, Chalk, Seaweed and Chatreuse. Then added stencilling with a TCW stencil and French Roast and Chalk paint along with some background stamping from Paperartsy HotPicks set HP1501:
Then I added the main images in black archival from Paperartsy HotPicks set HP1506:
Next was the beeswax - a new experience for me!
I struggled to get an even layer over the whole page - there was a lot of reheating going on and wax everywhere lol!
But after some persistence I'm really happy with my page - I love the muted look the wax gives to the page and also how it feels, such a different texture to normal pages.
Here's a couple of close ups to try to show the waxy layer:
Thanks for looking!

ReplyDeleteOooh wow, love this, the colours are fab and your wax really finishes it off xx
ReplyDeleteAmazing colour scheme, love wax x
ReplyDeleteoh Claire this is lovely..great colour combo and choice of stamps. Hope you are ok xxx
ReplyDeleteLooks like you really have a winner with that colour combo Claire because my first reaction on seeing your page was 'Wow, I love those colours!' and it seems we all feel the same. Your page is beautiful and I had the same trouble with getting my wax to even out but it doesn't really matter, the effect is still stunning!

I was chasing the melted wax around my page to try and flatten it (to no avail)! With or without wax, this is a wonderful page!
