Wordy Tag

Hello,
Today I'm sharing a tag I made to join in with two challenges. The first is the current challenge over on the Paperartsy blog.
The theme this fortnight is 'words' and as per usual there has been some fab inspiration so far over on their blog.
And then I combined it with the penultimate challenge over at Artful Times here.  Artful times was one of the first challenge blogs I ever discovered when I first started blogging so it's sad to see it come to an end. Their current theme is hot pink and orange.
Here is the tag I made:

Started by covering a size 8 tag with old book paper then used three Dylusions paint colours over it - bubblegum pink, squeezed orange and lemon zest.
Stamped on the circles and zig zags from a Clare Lloyd set using white pigment ink then stamped on the tulip image in black archival which is from an Ellen Vargo set.
I had cleaned off the excess paint onto a spare tag so I then stamped the tulip head repeated onto the this and cut them out in layers and added them to the tag.
For the stem I had an old piece of mop up paper which happened to be green hanging around so I stamped the stem, cut it out and layered it on.
I stamped the sentiment from the same Ellen Vargo set using black archival and the doodled the border on using a black fineliner.
To finish off I sprayed a piece of ribbon with Dylusions inks and added to the top.
Thanks for stopping by today,
Claire x

  5. Ha ha .. are you another Dylusion paints fan? I just love the creaminess and the fact they dry so quickly. Sorry, I digress.
Thanks for joining us and it is interesting to hear that we were the first challenge blog you encountered, nice to see you in our penultimate challenge. Especially nice when it is with such a beautiful tag. Thanks for showing us how you made it too.

  6. Such a beautiful tag, Claire. I'm sorry it's taken me ages to get here this time! Life has been a bit hectic. I love the warm colours on your tag and the way the text is just visible in the background. This is beautiful, subtle art work. xxx

  7. How scrumptious! The colours are just wonderful both in the background and on that beautiful flower, and I love the text just hovering subtly.
