Paperartsy Inspired Coaster

Hello Everyone and thank you for visiting today.

A couple of weeks ago over on the Paperartsy blog Wanda Hentges was sharing a project on ceramic tile art - HERE

I wanted to have a go so found a plain old tile and gave it a couple of coats of gesso as it was very shiny.

I went to Stamp Magic at Doncaster on Sunday and thought this was the perfect opportunity to try out my new Paperartsy goodies!

I gave my tile two coats of Marlin Fresco paint followed by two coats of Evergreen. I then sanded back some of the Evergreen to reveal both the Marlin and the white tile underneath in places.

I used my new Lin Brown stencil and sponged through Hint of Mint and Plum Fresco. I highlighted the petals using my white Sharpie pen.

I sealed the tile with a couple of coats of Satin Glaze and then added some Royal Amethyst Treasure Gold around the edges.

It was missing something so I added the two corners from Creative Expressions and then coloured them using the Royal Amethyst Treasure Gold again.

Finally I added four cork feet the to bottom of the tile and now it's ready for use as a coaster!

Loved creating this, thanks to Wanda and Paperartsy for the inspiration!

Decorated Box

Hello,

Last weekend I went to a workshop taught by Annette Lee. Annette had brought some lovely MDF boxes for us to decorate, my box is roughly 6x6.

Here is my finished box:

I used Paperartsy Fresco paints Dolly Mix and Dusty Teal from one of the JOFY limited edition sets to paint my box. I then used some papers from Craftwork cards on the sides, lid and on the underside of the kid too. I distressed the papers with some of the Teal paint and a baby wipe.

The sides looked a bit bare so I added some stamped flowers ( I think they are heartfelt creations) and some metal corners. On the lid I used a die cut and a stamp both belonging to Annette so I have no idea which brand they are.

Once I was home I added white fire treasure gold to the corners and the die cut on the lid. I also added it around all the edges and along the lid edges too.

To the flower centres I added some gems which I had coloured also using the white fire treasure gold.

It was a lovely day and I really liked my box.

I have given it to my sister as a house warming pressie :-)

Thanks for stopping by,

Claire xx

New home card

Hi Everyone,

My little sister is moving out of our parents house this weekend into her first house!

I have combined this event with the Sprinkle of Imagination monthly colour challenge and made her a new home card.

Here is the colours for this months challenge:

I chose to use regal purple, zest of lime, off white and ebony black for my card:

I started with a normal 5x7 card blank and trimmed it to create the house shape. Then I painted it with Chalk Fresco paint for my off white colour. I cut a roof for my house and painted it with Eggplant Fresco paint (my regal purple) before punching the edge with a Fiskars punch. I also painted some corrugated card with the same Eggplant paint to use as the door then dry brushed the raised areas with the Chalk Fresco paint.

I stamped the leaves and bricks using black versafine ink - both are from Paperartsy Eclectica Darcy set 9. I coloured the leaves, the buttons and the grunge board letters using Zesty Zing Fresco paint.

I added the chit chat stickers to the roof and some bakers twine through the larger button. Then added the little green button to the door as the door handle.

Thanks for calling by my blog today, Claire x
