Diamonds Are A Girls Best Friend

Hi and welcome,

So another Paperartsy blog challenge was up on their blog last Sunday - this time it's patterns. Click HERE for all the info.

So I chose diamonds for my pattern - this is partly because I love this stencil from TCW but also because I had just watched a YouTube video by Marta Lapkowska (here)where she used the Finnabair diamond stencil and it inspired me to create this journal page. So here is the finished pages:

It all got a bit dark and moody but originally it had started out like this:

It was going to be fresh and bright, I used Fresco paints in Carribean Sea and Bougainvilla. I then did the stencil bump technique using white texture paste.

Then I added two Infusion colours - I think it was a bit jaded and are you cerise....

Wish I had stopped here but I didn't.....I decided to add more infusions....then snowflake paint to try to lighten it, but it just reacted with the infusions underneath so that didn't work! Never mind, I just carried on.

I added quite a bit of background stamping, one of JOFY's new minis, then fab rectangles from Kim Dellows new set, lots of splashed of paint and then water blotting too.

As the background was so dark I decided to stamp my images onto book pages so they would stand out a bit. They are all Kim Dellow stamps from her three plates.

I added a bit more colour using coloured pencils and also some posca pens.

Edged the pages in black archival and I think it's probably done.

Thanks for stopping by today, please feel free to leave me a comment :-)
