Canvas ATC

Happy Sunday everyone!

Today I decided to attempt my very first ATC (or Artist Trading Card):

The ATC's I had were canvas ones - which I like as it gives a nice texture.  I used dylusions sprays in cut grass, london blue and melted chocolate, then I inked around the edges and a little bit onto the ATC with vintage photo distress ink.  I then used some sequin waste with bundled sage distress stain and picket fence stain and stamped the clock image from clarity stamps in vintage photo (which is a little difficult to see in the photos).  I stamped the clock image again but in black versafine and the sentiment which is from dylusions in the same black ink.  I then punched four holes, one in each corner and threaded through some twine.  I think it turned out quite well for a first attempt - I would have liked the main clock image and sentiment to have come out a little darker maybe?

I would like to enter my ATC in the following challenges:

  • Artful Times Challenge Blog - Neet has chosen the theme of "time on an ATC" all the challenge details can be found HERE
  • Allsorts Challenge Blog - Week 191's theme is "Masculine" all the details for this weeks challenge can be found by clicking HERE
  • Anything But A Card - This is a new blog I found via Mark who is on their DT :)  The current challenge is "Tie It Up" and the challenge details can be found HERE
Thanks for stopping by, Claire x

  6. Love how you've used canvas as the base for your ATC - it makes the background colours glow. The addition of the twine is a great touch and I just love that stuff - I'd put it on every project if I could! Great little ATC Claire!
Thanks for joining the challenge at Anything But A Card this time.

  8. Hi Claire, Great first ATC, I love the canvas for the base, it adds a real nice texture. The thing with ATC's is they are very addictive once you start it's hard to stop.
Thanks for the mention and for joining us at Anything but a card.x

  9. Well done on your first ATC! Very brave of you to attempt one on canvas too. I think if you do one on card you will find the words stand out more. Next time try doing the words on paper and sticking them on, see if you like the effect. You can always colour the paper first with a little Distress Ink or something. Another thing would be to stamp them and then put clear embossing powder on but a bit difficult on canvas when you first start.
For someone new to crafting this is amazing. I just love the colours you chose and it made me go "ooh" when I saw the thumbnail on our blog. Hope you don't mind the above suggestions, just trying to help you with some other ideas.
Thanks for joining us at Artful Times, hope you come back to us and join in more.
Good luck with your crafting and blogging.
    Hugs, Neet xx

  12. Hi Claire, it is a brilliant first attempt at an ATC (I would hate for you to see my first one!). The canvas gives a wonderful texture and the colours you used are beautiful. Like the idea of the string too, it gives a lift to the whole ATC. Wonderful job. Hugs, Anne x
