Masking Fluid Experiments

My good crafty friend Hazel has been trying out a lot of techniques with masking fluid HERE.  I have a bottle of masking fluid which I think I may have used once upon a time so thought I would dig it out and have another go.

I decided to use one of Lin Brown's stencils - I pondered how best to add my masking fluid and decided on using a small piece of cut and dry foam.  I think I may have used a bit too much as I did get a little seepage (it is quite runny) but it kind of adds to the effect!  At least that's what I'm telling myself anyway!!

Once the masking fluid was dry I sprinkled on Infusions in Royal Blue, A Bit Jaded and Black Knight and spritzed with water.

I blotted it a bit so the colours weren't too dominant.  Once the page was dry I rubbed off the masking fluid - it came away really easily, much better than distant memories of using it before.  Maybe this is because I only got a very thin layer on the page due to the cut and dry foam?

I stamped the sentiment from Lin Brown set ELB33 in black archival.  I added a shadow to the flowers using a charcoal pencil and smudged it with a blending stump.  Then added a smudgy charcoal border around the page to frame it.

I enjoyed my little experiment and as I washed my stencil straight away it is perfectly fine.
