I have created a card this time featuring Rosalina:

I created the background using distress inks in milled lavender, evergreen bough and tumbled glass and then overstamped in the same colours with a music stamp by Inkylicious.
I added a faux mount with a black pro marker and mounted the background onto a card blank.  To finish I added the chit chat words by Tim Holtz.

DT Make for The Crafting Cafe

Hi everyone

Here is the card I made for The Crafting Cafe May challenge - the theme this month is Lady Luck and we are sponsored by Bugaboo Stamps, to see all the challenge details click HERE to visit the challenge blog.

My digi image is from Bugaboo Stamps, I coloured it using pro markers and gave it a faux border using a black pro marker.  I then mounted it onto green cardstock, then onto gold before finally adding it to my kraft card blank.

A simple but very sweet card I think!

Dictionary Challenge - Letter K

Hi everyone,

So the dictionary challenge over at The Craft Barn blog is onto week 10 and the letter this fortnight is K, to visit the blog for more info on the challenge click HERE

So the word I have chosen this time is 'kook' or 'kooky' and here are my pages:

I have used Alice in Wonderland  images from The Octopode Factory which I think are kooky and eccentric.  I printed them onto card, coloured them with pro markers and cut them out.  I then masked my definition and coloured my dictionary pages using dylusions inks applied with a paintbrush, I used the lime and the grass colour on the bottom and london blue and turquoise on the top half for the sky.  I then used a butterfly swirl mask from splodgeaway with black soot distress ink on the pages and added white acrylic paint on sequin waste to add both regular and reverse stenciling.

I added the Alice and the Cheshire cat images onto the pages, unmasked the definition and doodled around it in black pen.

I hope you can see my pages ok, I took my dictionary out into the garden to photograph it but the light was pretty bad and cast some strange shadows onto the pages.

Thanks for visiting my blog today, please feel free to leave me a comment so I know you popped by!

Mermaid Tag

Hi Everyone, today I have a tag to share............

It's a ranger manila size 10 tag - so pretty big!  So here it goes:

I started by putting distress inks in mustard seed, picked raspberry and peacock feathers on my craft sheet and spritzed with water, I then smooshed my tag through the colours.  Once dry I went over the tag using cut and dry foam with the same colours to intensify them, I then flicked water at the tag to created the splatter effect.  Next I used Viva embossing creme in white mixed with sky blue acrylic paint through an Andy Skinner tornado stencil.  When I dried it with my heat gun the tornado puffed up so it has a nice texture.  I used the ends of the hair on the Juliet stamp by Indigo Blu to stamp the seaweed in black archival along the bottom and on the top right side of the tag.
Next I printed my mermaid image from The Octopode Factory and coloured her with promarkers.  I added her to the tag with foam pads and gave her a pearl earring and a diamond in her eye and on her tail.  Then I added the chit chat stickers from Tim Holtz saying 'discover another world'.  To finish off the tag I added a string of pearls along the bottom and tied a bow in turquoise organza at the top.

I would like to enter my tag in the following challenges:

Pink Seashells

Hello Everyone,

I've created this card to join in with a couple of challenges:

  • Clarity Stamp Challenge - this month the theme is "It's All In The Sentiment" for all the challenge details click HERE
  • The Artistic Stamper - the May challenge is "Words" click HERE for all the challenge details

I inked up the centre square of card with victorian velvet and antique linen distress inks.  I then stamped the seashell corner stamp four times and coloured them in with distress markers, water and a paintbrush before cutting them out.  I stamped the sentiment in black archival and mounted it onto some pearlescent card.  I then arranged my seashell corners around the inked square and added the sentiment in the centre.  I took a piece of pearlescent card and dry embossed it and then lightly inked it using the victorian velvet distress ink, I mounted this piece onto pearlescent card also.  I created another panel using pink card mounted onto the pearlescent card again to go down the left side of the card.  All my elements were then mounted onto an 8x8 card blank.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today, I hope to see you again soon!

Lighthouse Card

Hello Everyone, I hope you are all having a lovely Monday - I know I am because I'm off work as it's a bank holiday and for once the sun is shining!!

Today I created a card to give to my Dad as he used to live by the sea when he was growing up:

The stamp is made by Elusive images (now called Chocolate Baroque) which I stamped in black archival ink.  I coloured the image with pencils and distressed a little bit around the edges in weathered wood distress ink.  I then stamped and coloured the seagull on the post twice and cut him out.  I layered up my main image onto brown card and decoupaged the seagull on top.  I cut down an A5 card blank to suit my image and that was it all finished!

I would like to enter my card into the following challenges:

Dictionary Challenge - A

Hi Everyone, it's time again for a new letter over at The Craft Barn blog.  The weeks seem to be flying past this year!!

The letter this fortnight is "A" and there are no additional requirements this time, so here are my pages - I've chosen the word ANGEL:

I started by masking my definition, then sprayed my pages with Dylusions inks - I used london blue, vibrant turquoise, crushed grape and white linen.
Once dry I used the tornado stencil by Andy Skinner and sky blue acrylic paint on the left hand page, I then used his baroque stencil and rose acrylic paint on the four internal corners.
I then stamped my angel by Blade Rubber stamps in black archival ink and the sentiment (I believe in angels) that came with her along the bottom of the page.  I used a white stabilo all pencil to highlight the angel and used a black pencil to create a shadow underneath her.

I then removed the mask from the definition and emphasized it using the black stabilo all pencil.

Thanks for stopping by today - I hope everyone in the UK is having a lovely bank holiday weekend!
