White Space!

Hello everyone,

This fortnight the theme on the Paperartsy blog is 'white space' you can check out their blog by clicking HERE.

Here is my journal page for this topic which was inspired by the post Anneke did a few nights ago - which you can see HERE.

I created it in my smaller Dylusions journal - I started by grabbing a bunch of random stencils and sponging paint through them. The colours I used were all Paperartsy Frescos in Teresa Green, Granny Smith, Professor Plum, Tangerine Twist and Captain Peacock.

I stamped the flowers which are Kim Dellow for Paperartsy plate EKD01 and the sentiment in black archival.

With the leftover paint from the stencilling I finger painted some circles onto scrap card and stamped the flower heads again and cut out.

I got some brand new Posca paint markers in the post today so wanted to try them out - so I set to adding some doodling and extra bits and pieces to the stenciling with them. Really enjoyed this part and could have gone on for ages but as this topic is 'white space' I thought I had better stop!

I thought the page needed an extra little touch of black so added some faint stamping in black archival using the circles from the same Kim Dellow stamp set as used above.

Then finally added the pop of white in the flower heads by colouring the circles white with a white Posca marker.

Enjoyed creating this bright and cheerful page - much thanks to Anneke for the inspiration :-)

Thanks for visiting my blog today, please do leave a comment so I know you stopped by!

Paperartsy Challenge - Resists

Hi Everyone,

It's been a while since I blogged as my mojo seems to have been on holiday lol!

But today I made some cards to join in with the current challenge over on the Paperartsy blog which is resists. This week I also watched Kim Dellow on YouTube where she was demonstrating how to create a faux printed look which has totally inspired these cards.

So here are my finished cards - I made three of them:

I remembered to take a few in progress pics today!

Started my masking off the edges of my white card squares with washi tape. Then to create my resist I used Vaseline through a few stencils:

Then I added Paperartsy Fresco Finish paint with an old card, smearing it on. Unfortunately the Vaseline also went everywhere but you can still see the resist which is good!

I created masks from Kim Dellow's two stamp sets and used them to add paint through onto the background before stamping over them using black archival.

Then to finish them I added the sentiment, which is from a JOFY stamp set, and then mounted onto black card before adding to card blanks.

Really enjoyed this way of creating and will definately be trying it out again in the future. Thank you Kim for sharing it - if you haven't been before Kim has a wonderful blog full of inspiration which you can find HERE.

Thanks for stopping by,

Claire xx
