Marta Workshop Day!

Hi Everyone,

On Saturday I was lucky enough to get a place on a full day of workshops with the amazing Marta Lapkowska ran by the very organised Sue Tucker.

In the morning we altered an old book cover, using a range of Prima supplies, some Scrapiniec pieces and also Lindy's Stamp Gang sprays. Here is my finished project - it's a bit dark here so the colours really look so much lovelier in real life :-)

In the afternoon we made some journal pages inside our altered books, here are the two pages I created - they are really shimmery, which the camera really hasn't picked up!

It was a really lovely day and I hope I'll be able to go to another Marta workshop again!

Reflections

Hello and welcome,

The current challenge over on the Paperarsty blog is all about image transfers. On Friday night Keren Baker showed us a couple of really clean and simple cards she had created, one was using the technique of transferring an image using an acrylic block.

I wanted to have a go at this technique so created a card in a similar style:

The images are all from Chocolate Baroque, I stamped the main scene onto the card first and then onto a block, then transferred the image from the block to the card.

I coloured in my scene using distress markers in a watercolour style fashion.

I think it worked pretty well and will definately remember this technique for the future!!

There is lots of other transfer techniques over on the Paperartsy blog HERE if you want to check them out!

Thanks for stopping by,

Claire xx
